  1. Write the operating brief

    Record the approved payment state, order state, inventory rule, sales cap, ship window, uncertainty, mixed-cart rule, cancellation and refund route, buyer notices, and stop-sale trigger.

    Why it matters: The operator cannot update or fulfil safely when preorder status disappears after the product page.

Failure modes

Watch for these problems

  • The preorder status appears only on the product page. Stop launch and preserve it through order and notification records.
  • Mixed carts create an unsupported promise. Block that cart or document a tested supported route.
  • The store cannot find every affected order. Repair the identifier before accepting preorders.
  • A delay notice omits a required buyer choice. Obtain legal review and correct the route.
